The Texans organization would like to congratulate the following players for their hard work and dedication to the game.
Rodrigo Arellano Jr., sr., Hendrickson: In his four seasons anchoring Hendrickson’s lineup, the attacking midfielder has earned all-state honors as well as district MVP recognition. He saved his best for last, translating what coach Jacob Stern calls “the best technical skill I have ever seen” into 17 goals and three assists while leading the Hawks to the District 13-6A title and a spot in the regional quarterfinals.
DEFENDER: Griffin Smith, sr., McCallum: The Knights enjoyed one of the deepest runs in school history by reaching the Class 5A regional quarterfinals, and the Clark University signee not only served as a back line stalwart but also chipped in six goals and two assists.
MIDFIELDER: Fernando Garduno, sr., Pflugerville: The District 17-5A MVP delivered 14 goals and 16 assists for the Panthers’ first boys soccer district champions and emerged as the team’s vocal leader on and off the pitch.
